Baselworld 2015 Day 1: The Glashutte Original Senator Observer

Hot out of the oven is Glashutte’s latest Baselworld 2015 release, the revamped and ready for action Senator Observer. Built to withstand extreme weather conditions, the Glashutte Original Senator Observer continues its tradition as a fundamental timepiece for those on the rougher side of the fence. 

Powered by a not so common automatic movement for an observer watch, the Glashutte Original Senator Observer is waterproof up to 5 bar, and has a power reserve function of 55 hours. 

Equipped with a 44MM diameter sized case, the Senator Observer features sapphire crystal glass, hours and minutes hands, small seconds sub dial, power reserve indicator, panorama date, and a watchband made of leather.  

The Glashutte Original Senator Observer will be available in stainless steel with either a black watch strap made of Louisiana Leather, or black calfskin watch band.

Echoing its predecessor the Grande Seconde, Jaquet Droz follows code to the Grande Seconde collection design with the revamped pre Baselworld 2015 release, the Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Deadbeat. Parallel traditional watchmaking form with novelty pizzazz.  

Housed within a 43mm diameter sized case is a new caliber, self winding mechanical movement, off center hour and minutes display, large off center retrograde date display, and large central independent ticking seconds hand.   

Limited to only 88 pieces, the Grande Seconde Deadbeat features a 40 hour power reserve, 3 bar water resistance, and leather watch strap.

Pre Baselworld 2015, Chopard releases one of their newest models for the year, which combines the classic L.U.C signature case and in house regulator movement. Solidifying the L.U.C collection principles, the Chopard L.U.C Regulator is strategy and symmetry perfected. 

Preserving the grand tradition of precision clocks, the Chopard L.U.C Regulator features 6 strategically atypically placed indictions to ensure optimal legibility along with a cleverly placed hour display dial at 3 o’clock, instead of the common 12 o’clock position providing ergonomic time telling consistency against sleeves or cuffs. Additionally, the L.U.C Chopard offers a second time zone function controlled by a discreet corrector pusher on the side of the case. 

All Chopard L.U.C Regulator features include a 43MM diameter sized case, hour dial display, small seconds dial, GMT display dial, power reserve indicator, date display window, reptile skin watch strap, regulator movement, and COSC certification.
