The Rolex Explorer I 39 mm

Rolex Explorer I 39mm

The Rolex Explorer I was born in 1953 to honor Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to scale Mount Everest). Rolex wanted to offer a watch that paid tribute to Hillary and those who chose to explore the world and its extreme environmental changes.
Over decades Rolex made continuous expeditions to the Himalayans. The Explorer I passed the test in the high mountains altitudes. Being exposed to environmental changes such as water, extreme temperature changes, snow, ice and dust.

The Rolex Explorer has been updated regularly, taking advantage of technical innovation from Rolex while maintaining its original look and form as closely as possible. The redesign of this timepiece took place in 2010. The most noticeable change was the enlargement from 36mm to 39mm, giving it a substantial look and increased visibility, while keeping its original rolex watchband- the Oyster bracelet. The Rolex Explorer I maintains its original screwed down case back and twin lock crown, guaranteeing water resistance to a depth of 100 m or 330 feet.

The Explorer I does not possess a date indicator on its dial. Although this watch is not an inexpensive model, it is certainly not as pricey as many other Rolex models. If you are an aficionado of Rolex watches, then  the Explorer I 39mm will be the perfect model to begin your collection.
