The Rolex Daytona model 116520 comes in two versions: white or black dial, depending on your taste. Either color dial you choose, the Rolex Daytona is definitely a classic, versatile timepiece, which is considered one of the most sought-after timepieces in the world.

Rolex Daytona Latest Versions

The Rolex Daytona Cosmograph collection with calibre 4130, was finally launched during the Baseworld exhibition in the month of March 2000. All of the new models of the new 116500 series had a diameter of 40 mm and were slightly thinner than the previous versions. The bracelet and the clasp of these Rolex watches were also improved by introducing a much more solid construction.

In 2011 Rolex launched the Daytona reference 11615 in a pink gold case with a monobloc ceramic bezeled ivory chocolate dial. The same ceramic bezel as its predecessor, but combined with an unusual ice blue dial with chestnut brown counters. This particular watch was used in 2013 to commemorate Fifty Year Anniversary since the launch of its most celebrated watch.

These two Rolex Daytona versions are compatible with integrated Rubber B watchbands, and also with the universal "Structure Series" with vulcanized rubber base and leather or alligator watchband surface.

ROLEX DAYTONA MARK IV DIAL

The Rolex Daytona Mark IV dial had minimal changes although this dial was the most commonly used on Ref. 16520. Therefore, the Mark IV dial is usually associated with the Rolex Daytona. One of the major changes of this dial was when the font of the sub-dials changed to a more square bold font.

Small improvements are constantly introduced by the Swiss watch manufacturer Rolex. For theRolex Daytona watch, the Mark V dial arrived with the same dial as the previous Mark IV, but with the addition of the Lumina feature, changing from " T Swiss T" labeled as "Swiss" instead. The watch maintains its Oyster band, an iconic original by Rolex.

Rolex Daytona model 16520 has had different dial modifications thought the years. Improvement is the key to success, which is the  Rolex goal in each new model. Rolex makes it clear that every small detail counts when creating a timepiece.


MARK I

* Known by the letter serials starting with R in 1988, and L in 1989.
* The entire text on the dial " Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, Superlative Chronometer" is located lower than the later dials, and the word "Cosmograph" was separated from the rest of the text.
* Labeled also as "T Swiss T" at the 6 o'clock position.
** This dial was manufactured for just about a year.

The Rolex Daytona Ref.16520 was the last model in Rolex's collection to contain the Zenith movement, even though the Zenith movement had been a great success. Rolex didn't like the fact that was not 100% manufactured by them alone. The housing calibre 4130, containing the new Rolex movement was launched during the baselworld exhibition.

Other versions releases of this model Ref. 16520 include: 

2000- stainless steel and gold, yellow gold, and white gold. 
2004- white gold with black or white dials.
2008- everose gold

The Rolex Daytona Ref. 6239 Cosmograph introduced two important aesthetic changes to Rolex's chronograph dials. One of those changes was the use of inverse color schemes for the main dial and subsidiary dials. The second major change was the removal of the printed tachymetric scale (found on the dial's circumference).
These changes gave the Rolex Daytona a sportier and more aggressive look compared to the prior models. The Daytona comes in an Oyster band.
